Special Update from the American Holistic Health Association with items of interest to those actively enhancing their health and well-being -- another free service from AHHA.

FEATURED NEWS ITEM
With progress being made in Washington on the Patients' Bill of Rights, it is time to focus on the Access to Medical Treatment Act (AMTA). This legislation will allow those health professionals (with appropriate training) who wish to use complementary and alternative therapies to do so free from harassment, censure, or disciplinary actions and significantly broaden the healing options available to American consumers. Again this year an AMTA bill has been introduced in the House and the Senate. The House bill is HR1964. The Senate has not yet assigned a number. The American Preventive Medical Association has been a major player promoting this important legislation. Periodically check their web site (http://apma.net) under Federal Affairs. They currently have a link to a Library of Congress site where you can enter the bill number - HR1964 - and get to inspect the actual wording of the bill and a list of sponsors.

FEATURED AHHA RESOURCE
There are healthcare professionals offering a wide variety of healing disciplines. What is increasingly important to the patients is HOW the care is delivered.  A "holistic" approach honors the whole person (mind/body/spirit) with doctor and patient as partners. All of the physicians and practitioners on the AHHA Practitioner Member list (http://ahha.org/ahhasearch.htm) practice with a holistic approach. Our online searchable database is your opportunity to identify these special members.

Recommended by doctors
and yoga teachers for easier
