Organic cucumbers grown at Maharishi Vedic City Organic Farms in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, were found to contain higher levels of essential nutrients compared to the nutritional content of conventionally grown cucumbers, according to the results of new research conducted at Food Products Laboratory, Inc., a leading nutritional laboratory in Portland, Oregon.

The Maharishi Vedic City organic cucumbers were obtained by the lab from a grocery store in Fairfield, Iowa, and compared to data gathered by the USDA on the nutritional content of conventionally grown cucumbers that were obtained in U.S. grocery stores.

The results were impressive. Maharishi Vedic City organic cucumbers contained 3.6 times more Vitamin C and 3.3 times more Vitamin E as the USDA found in conventional cucumbers. The levels of important mineral nutrients were much higher in Maharishi Vedic City organic, as well. Iron was 6.8 times higher than in conventional and Calcium was 1.43 times higher.
